Crystal Growth
Zirconia Felt ZYF and Zirconia Fiber Board ZYFB-3 are the preferred insulation materials for the Czochralski method of crystal growing. When iridium crucibles are used, the vaporized metal condenses in the zirconia felt, where it is readily reclaimable. These zirconia materials are also used in other types of crystal growth stations.
Single-crystal directional solidification processes use ZYFB-3 as insulation, making jet turbine blades with no grain boundaries.
For temperatures above 1000°C, ZYFB-3 and ZYF have the lowest thermal conductivity (K) on the market.
ZYFB-3 has also been used for silicon and silica melt furnace construction.
ZYF zirconia felt has the flexibility to wrap around quartz crystal tubing and crucibles as an aid to efficient thermal processing. The felt keeps the heat trapped within the quartz material, improves the quality of the structure, and protects it from thermal shock.
Buster insulation has also been used as a replacement for graphite material. The Buster has half the thermal conductivity, lowering energy cost.
Material is in stock, and samples are available for testing.
Key Benefits
Reclaimable Iridium Condensation:
Vaporized metal from iridium crucibles condenses in ZYF felt, allowing for easy reclamation.
Jet Turbine Blade Production:
ZYFB-3 is used in single-crystal directional solidification processes, creating blades without grain boundaries.
Top Market Insulation:
For temperatures above 1000°C, ZYFB-3 and ZYF offer the lowest thermal conductivity (K) available.
Silicon and Silica Furnace Construction:
ZYFB-3 is a trusted choice for efficient furnace insulation.
Quartz Crystal Processing:
ZYF wraps around quartz tubing and crucibles, improving thermal efficiency and shielding against thermal shock.
Energy-Saving Solutions:
